Happy Birthday to Me!

It's getting to a point in my life where I don't love to acknowledge that another year has come and gone and that, more importantly, I'm yet another year older. This year however has been, up to this point in the day, worth noting. Justin decided to take the day off to take me shopping. He didn't even complain about the browsing I did and the none rush was a nice change. All of the kids acknowledged the day without any reminding by their dad. Love these kids. I checked facebook a minute ago and all kinds of "Happy Birthdays" from friends were there. Phone calls and texting from family all poured in before 11 am. I am blessed!


I'm not discounting any of the above. But Jill Bryce, my dear friend from Arizona, is the cherry on top thus far. I got home from lunch with Holli and Justin to find a package on my front doorstep. As I started ripping into the well taped package, I discover that the shipping container is a styrofoam cooler. Hmmmm....... Inside? My all time favorite ice cream - Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla - that you guessed it, I can't find in Utah. The dry ice it was packed in was completely gone, and the ice cream itself was only a little bit drippy. However, still solid enough to consume. If anyone touches it they'll pay dearly!


It's another little piece of Arizona that I miss. And in reality, I have a small obsession with this stuff. I have even thought it would be worth calling Blue Bell to find out how to sell it in the Utah market. It rocks! And Jill? You are amazing! Thanks for remembering my day and more importantly? Remembering ME.
